Why choose Radial Shockwave treatment at Global Physiotherapy Sherwood Park Inc?

Best Quality Technology that is used in Random Controlled Trials

Global Physiotherapy has purchased the latest Radial Shockwave Technology from Storz Medical. Storz hand makes each Storz machine in Switzerland. It is one of the few companies that are FDA approved. The Storz MP50 is a perfect fit for our experienced physiotherapists’ global treatment approach.

How does radial shockwave work?

A shockwave is an intense, but very short energy wave traveling faster than the speed of sound. Shockwave therapy is an acoustic pressure wave transmitted through the body tissue over the painful area. The pressure wave created at the point of contact transmits radially inside the body.

Shockwave Therapy side effects and treatment time frames

At Global Physiotherapy Sherwood Park Inc., shockwave therapy sessions are 25 to 30 minutes long because we use a three-phase approach that is possible with the Storz MP50. Our experienced physiotherapists will treat the trigger points, the tendon attachments and the myofascial tissue.

Most patients require three to six treatment sessions. We require that you commit to the first three treatments with a one-week interval between sessions to get the best therapeutic effect that has been shown in the clinical trials.

Cost of Radial Shockwave Therapy

First three treatments cost $465 and additional treatments are $130. After the first three treatments, a six-week healing period is recommended before evaluating the need for further treatments. For a new client requesting radial shockwave treatment, you will be booked for a one-hour global physiotherapy assessment that will include your first treatment. The cost for this first session is $200.

Assessment and Consent for Radial Shockwave Therapy

Your physiotherapist will explain the benefits of radial shockwave therapy for your chronic condition that has not improved to the level you desire. The effectiveness of the treatment is influenced by the physiotherapist correctly identifying the tissue to be treated and positioning the body to get the best quality treatment. Our standard is to keep the pain level at a 3/10 where 10 is intolerable, go to the hospital pain.

Know that we clean our equipment parts that touch the tissue with an ultrasonic device for medical equipment as per the manufacturers recommendations. Our staff is committed to providing you with the best quality equipment and radial shockwave treatment experience in Sherwood Park and Edmonton.
