Osteoporosis and Osteopenia: improve bone density and physical function

What is Osteoporosis and Osteopenia?
Osteopenia is the first sign of a decrease of bone mineral density. One of the initial signs may be some height loss. Osteopenia can occur in both women and men. The higher incidence is in women starting in perimenopause. However, men can also get osteoporosis. The goal of ONERO is to prevent fractures from fragile bone and to reduce the risk of falling as people age with improved balance and strength. More information is available from Osteoporosis Canada: https://osteoporosis.ca/signs-and-symptoms/.
What is ONERO?
ONERO is a research-validated physiotherapist-suprevised small group strength and balance exercise program. Global Physiotherapy Sherwood Park is the first ONERO licensed provider in Alberta.
